earlier today my computer froze while i was in the middle of playing crosswise. i might have had another ie window open on neopets, but i'm sure i wasn't doing anything else. all of the sudden, the screen got weird looking (numberous blocks of (strange pixelation?) dunno how to describe), and i had to reboot. after i reboot and opened ie, a "dell support" screen popped up telling my that my security settings for internet browsing were too low and suggesing that i change some options. the same type of freeze happened once a month or two ago, but without the "security settings" bit. i am concerned and will look into it.
i sometimes think about seriously cutting my time on my home computer. i waste so much time on stupid games. i've just become so addicted to it. it's my entire entertainment center--i watch tv, movies, and anime on it; it's the only music playing device i use; and as i mentioned, there are the games. i don't even mean cool games like everquest or diablo--i mean stupid ones like bejeweled or collapse. well, i'm productive on it too--it is the only source from which i learn about current events; i look up stuff to learn sometimes, like japanese, health info, computer stuff, word-nerd stuff, and other random interests; i check the weather regularly; i check my work email as well as personal emails; i've made a couple of good friends through im (you know who you are ;) ); and of course there's this nifty journal that i've maintained for over a year now (wow, i didn't realize it had been so long!).
what would i be doing if i didn't have a computer? watching more tv, reading more books, maybe doing more housework, and maybe going out more.
maybe i should just get dial-up. then i'd save a few bucks, have a lan line phone, and have access to the net for some productive stuff, but probably wouldn't use it as much overall. i think i'll do that in a month or two.

completely unrelated
Could you please explain for me what the hell happened on Andromeda - assuming you still watch it? I am absolutely lost. I though the series ended when the captain there went back with the chart or map or whatever he found. Now there are two avatars - not that I'm complaining - and everything is weird.July 18 2005, 13:54:38 UTC 6 years ago
Re: completely unrelated
seems like you think the season 4 finale was the series finale--which i hadn't been sure about either, until season 5 started. you're watching season 5, which is the last season. most of season 5 is weird--LOTS of questions arise, and to warn you, only some are answered by the series' end. the eye candy remains though ;)July 18 2005, 08:50:38 UTC 6 years ago
weird?
i was actually thinking of discontinuing my internet service too.. i've been so busy and away so much the past few months that i think i've only spent a few hrs a week on the net. so i feel kinda silly paying 45 bucks for it every month.. but i do dl stuff from bittorrent regularly and i don't know if i'm ready to give that up. i was actually thinking of disconnecting for a couple of months and seeing how it goes.. and just use yrs when i really needed to.. humm.. or getting a decent laptop and seeing if i can tap into some free wifi.. hehe.
